At Geaux Swimming Pools, we are proud to have two accomplished founders who have dedicated their lives to design, construction, and making backyard dreams come true. Meet Les Ewen and Ken Jones, the co-founders of Geaux Swimming Pools.

Les Ewen has over three decades of experience in the pool business and has been designing and building custom Gunite water features since 1986. In 2000, he became the owner of Ascension Pools and ran the company until 2011. During his tenure, Les was a member of the Care Craft and Paramount PACE programs, which are prestigious organizations that recognize excellence in pool building. Les also wrote for Water Shapes magazine in May 2004, showcasing his talent as an expert in his field. Apart from his professional accomplishments, Les is a volunteer firefighter/first responder who served as Fire Chief and chief of the response team during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Gustav. Les’s passion for boats and airplanes is well known, but his priority has always been his family and friends. He brings his vast experience and dedication to every project he works on and makes sure that every family’s backyard dream becomes a reality.

Ken Jones is a licensed architect and general contractor who brings a wealth of experience in architecture, construction, and real estate development to Geaux Swimming Pools. He founded Jones Design/Builders, LLC, and Truitt-Jones Construction in 1997 and 1990, respectively. Before starting his own firms, he was the operations manager for a construction and real estate firm in Brentwood, Tennessee. Ken has also worked as a chief architect and corporate secretary for Lakeside Construction Company and served as the director for design and development at The Bluffs Golf Resort. He is an active member of the American Institute of Architects and has been licensed to practice architecture in several states. His expertise and passion for design and building have earned him professional designations such as Graduate Master Builder, Certified Graduate Builder, Certified Aging in Place Specialist, and Certified Green Professional from the University of Housing in Washington, D.C. Ken has served as chairman, vice-chairman, and committee member of the National Design Committee for the National Association of Home Builders and is currently a life director on the board of directors for the organization. He also teaches continuing education courses to architects, contractors, and builders throughout the United States.

At Geaux Swimming, our design process is something that we take very seriously. We understand that our clients want the very best when it comes to their swimming pool, and we are dedicated to surpassing expectations in every single project that we undertake. Our design process is a key part of this commitment, and we believe that it sets us apart from other swimming pool designers and builders in the industry.

To start with, our design process always begins with an initial conversation and site visit. We take the time to talk to our clients about their vision for their pool, and we also take a thorough look at the site where the pool will be built. This allows us to gain a clear understanding of the project requirements and to develop a design concept that is tailored to the specific needs of our clients.

Once we have a basic idea of the design concept, we move on to the next stage of our process: the 3D rendering phase. This is where we really start to bring the design to life. Our team works closely with our clients to create a detailed, animated version of the pool design using cutting-edge software. This allows our clients to see exactly what their pool will look like before any construction work begins, and it also gives them the opportunity to make any necessary changes or revisions to the design.

Finally, once the 3D rendering has been approved, we move on to the construction phase of the project. By hand-selecting premium materials and equipment and collaborating with skilled artisans, we ensure that each pool we create reaches exceptional standards that exceed expectations. We also work closely with our clients throughout the construction process to keep them informed about progress and to ensure that they are completely satisfied with the finished product.

Ken Jones is a well-respected and active member of the Greater Baton Rouge Home Builders Association (HBA), where he has been involved for many years. He has served as the past president not only for the Baton Rouge HBA but also for the state of Louisiana HBA.
